About Me

Hilarie is a Hong Kong born musician, violinist, composer, and songwriter based in Boston. She began studying music at the age of 5, training in both violin and piano, and spent much of her early years performing on stage. She holds a Licentiate of Trinity College London (LTCL) diploma in violin, as well as ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano, and has built a strong foundation in classical performance.

In high school, she expanded into singing, songwriting, and music production, which led to her acceptance into Berklee College of Music on a world tour scholarship. While at Berklee, Hilarie worked extensively as a session musician, recording string for artists and film projects. Her experience in orchestras and ensembles continues to inform her approach to arrangement and composition.

Alongside session work, she began developing as a composer, focusing on cinematic scoring and blending orchestral elements with modern production. Her work draws on her classical background while incorporating contemporary sounds shaped during her studies as a production major.

In addition to her performance and creative work, Hilarie has been teaching violin to students aged 5 and above for the past two years, sharing her technical foundation and musicality with the next generation of musicians.

Currently, Hilarie is focused on her artist project, exploring different genres, writing and producing music that is relatable but also reflects her personal experiences. She is preparing to release her original music later this year and is continuing to collaborate and build her career as a violinist, composer and songwriter.
